Get ready for some Halloween fun at the library! The Spooktacular Spookfest will take place Wednesday, October 28 from 5:00–7:00 pm as an open house-style event for families to enjoy at their own pace. Come make Halloween crafts, listen to a not-too-spooky story, march in a Halloween parade, and enjoy some tasty snacks. And best of all, every little spook who attends will receive a free book to take home! Costumes are encouraged, so come celebrate Halloween with us!

Get ready for a spooky twist on a classic favorite! Join us Thursday, October 29, from 5:00–6:30 pm for our Zombie Barbie Party. We’ll have Barbies—and maybe a few Kens—ready for you to transform into creepy, creative zombie dolls just in time for Halloween. All supplies will be provided, or you can BYOB (Bring Your Own Barbie) if you’d like to zombify one of your own. Come ready to get creative and give your Barbie a delightfully undead makeover!

The Evening Book Club will meet Tuesday, October 6 at 6:30 pm to discuss Beautiful Ugly by Alice Feeney. When Grady Green’s wife, Abby, disappears while they are visiting Scotland, his search for answers leads him into a maze of secrets, suspicion, and unexpected twists. Feeney’s atmospheric psychological thriller keeps readers guessing as Grady tries to uncover what really happened to his wife.

The Senior Center Book Club will meet Wednesday, October 28 at 1:00 pm at the Senior Center at the Golay. The group will discuss their next book, which will be announced soon. Both book clubs welcome new members. Call 765-478-3335 or stop by the library to reserve a copy once the title is announced.

The Bluegrass Benefit Concert on September 25th raised more than $1,000 to support Wayne County flood survivors. Thank you to everyone who came out, donated, and helped make it such an incredible night!

We’re happy to share that the proceeds have officially been delivered to the Wayne County Foundation, where they will be added directly to the Wayne County Cares Fund. We are so grateful for our community’s generosity and support of our neighbors during this difficult time.
