Braden Tedder, IU East

SFS Portal & Database Intern

Isaac Schmitz, Hagerstown Jr/Sr High School

Business & Community Engagement Intern

Hello! My name is Braden Tedder, and I just started interning at the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce. I’m currently in my second year at Indiana University East studying Informatics. Outside of school, I’m a member of the IU East men’s golf team, and I enjoy spending time outdoors, listening to music, and playing other sports like basketball and pickleball. I am excited to be part of the Chamber team and look forward to contributing my skills and experiences to the team.

Hello! My name is Isaac Schmitz, and I am currently interning at the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce. I live just outside Economy, Indiana and am a senior at Hagerstown high school. During high school I have participated in varsity football, basketball, and track, and am currently on the golf team. I jumped at the opportunity to intern at the Chamber of Commerce this school year because I knew that it would provide many formational experiences along with connections that could be a great resource in the future.

And it has done just that! Through this internship I have better been able to establish my future plans through the exposure I have had to different industries and job opportunities. I hope to attend either Notre Dame University or Franciscan University this coming fall to study Actuarial Science. Thank you to my team for giving me this position and teaching me along the way! I am more than grateful for this step in my life!

On March 24, the Chamber hosted candidates from contested primary races in partnership with the Indiana Farm Bureau. This event gave our members the opportunity to hear directly from candidates and gain insight to help them decide who they feel is best for themselves and their business.

“The Wayne County Area Chamber of Commerce offers events like Meet the Candidates as a benefit to our members, ” said Melissa Vance, WCACC President/CEO. “The purpose of this event is to provide a neutral platform for candidates in contested primary races to share their perspectives. All state and local candidates – contested and uncontested – were invited to participate and connect with attendees during the meet-and-greet portion of the evening.”
