A new year unfolds at Cope with crisp winter days and peaceful landscapes. January is the perfect time to reset, explore winter’s beauty, and reconnect with the outdoors. Snow may feel inconvenient at times, but it plays an essential role in keeping our ecosystems healthy. Snowmelt provides more lasting water than rain, nourishing soils, gardens, and waterways well into spring while helping reduce the risk of summer drought. Beneath the snow, a hidden layer forms that shelters insects and small animals, supporting the natural balance of winter life.
Beyond its ecological benefits, snow invites us to slow down. Peaceful landscapes, quiet days, and time spent sledding, building snowmen, or simply watching the flakes fall remind us to pause and reconnect—with nature and with one another.
