Dear WayneCounty.info,
Have a jar of pennies collecting dust? Loose change rattling around in your car? Put it to good use at the Joseph Moore Museum!
We’re launching Change for Change, a month-long effort to fund gallery updates using something many of us have lying around: spare change!
According to the New York Times, $100 in pennies weighs just over 55 pounds. We’re aiming to raise an ancient beaver’s worth of change — 225 pounds!
Every little bit helps: 🐭 House mouse’s worth (1 oz: 11 pennies) 🐰 Rabbit’s worth (2 lbs: 362 pennies) 🦫 Ancient giant beaver’s worth (225 lbs: 40,823 pennies!)
Help us kick off our Open House this Saturday by bringing your spare change and making the first big splash in our donation jar! Come by March 1st, from 10am to 4pm!
Can’t make it to Open House? No worries — pop by anytime during our open hours: Tuesday through Sunday, 10am – 5pm. Drop your change at the front desk throughout March to contribute to our goal.
Let’s make some real change — one penny at a time!
