This morning, Wayne County Deputies were sent to Sunset Drive in Spring Grove (on Richmond’s north side) on an initial report of a stabbing. Dispatchers were informed the female suspect had fled on foot and was no longer in the area. Wayne County Deputies found the victim to have a superficial laceration on his neck. The victim was checked by medics and was released at the scene.
Investigators processed the scene while our patrol deputies began to follow up on leads in attempts to locate the suspect, now identified as Mikayla Watson, age 25 of Richmond. Later in the afternoon, deputies were pointed in the direction of a restaurant on Richmond’s east side. Mikayla was found unarmed and walking in an alley near the restaurant. Deputies were able to take Mikayla into custody without incident where she was charged with aggravated battery, a level 3 felony. This investigation is on going and could result in additional charges.
