Summer Reading continues throughout July with an exciting lineup of programs for all ages!

The Evening Book Club will meet on Tuesday, July 28 at 6:30 pm to discuss Big Lies in a Small Town by Diane Chamberlain. The Senior Center Book Club will meet on Wednesday, July 22 at 1:00 pm at the Senior Center at the Golay to discuss The Dictionary of Lost Words by Pip Williams. Set during the creation of the first Oxford English Dictionary, this beautifully written historical novel follows a young woman who discovers that many words used by ordinary people—especially women—have been overlooked. As she begins collecting these forgotten words, she uncovers a powerful story about language, history, and whose voices are remembered. Both thought-provoking and deeply moving, this novel is sure to inspire an engaging discussion. Gamers’ Guild will meet on Mondays, July 6, 13, 20, and 27 at 4:00 pm for an afternoon of gaming, creativity, and fun. Whether participants are embarking on a Dungeons & Dragons adventure, challenging friends on the Nintendo Switch, or gathering around a favorite board game, there’s something for everyone. If there aren’t enough players for a D&D campaign, the group enjoys switching to board games or video games, ensuring every meeting is filled with laughter and friendly competition. New players are always welcome!
Mother Goose on the Loose is back this summer, bringing stories, songs, movement, and hands-on learning to toddlers, preschoolers, and their caregivers every Wednesday at 11:00 am. Children will explore rhymes, numbers, shapes, colors, and early literacy skills while enjoying an engaging story and plenty of music and dance. This summer, we’re also delighted to welcome guest presenter Keisha Fagan, who will help make each week’s program even more fun and memorable.
