Summer Reading is here, and we’re excited to invite readers of all ages to join us for a summer of adventure, discovery, and fun! This year’s theme, Unearth a Story, celebrates the joy of exploring new ideas through books while also digging into history as our nation approaches its 250th anniversary. From a Kids’ Boston Tea Party and a visit from President Lincoln to hands-on gardening programs, wildlife presentations, local history treasures, and performances by the Lincoln High School Band, there is something for everyone on this year’s calendar. Participants can earn entries for prize drawings by reading or listening to books throughout June and July, making Summer Reading a great way to learn, explore, and connect with our community all summer long. The Evening Book Club will meet on Tuesday, June 23 at 6:30 pm to discuss Tom Lake by Ann Patchett. Gamers’ Guild continues to be one of our liveliest programs, with participants gathering each week for Dungeons and Dragons adventures and Nintendo Switch games. We are especially grateful that Forest has returned to serve as Dungeon Master, helping to guide the group’s adventures and keep the excitement on track. In June, Gamers’ Guild will meet on Mondays, June 1, 15, and 22 at 4:00 pm. New players are always welcome to join the fun!
On Wednesdays at 11:00 am, Mother Goose on the Loose welcomes toddlers, pre-schoolers, or anyone who wants to have some fun learning rhymes, numbers, shapes, and colors. We will share a story and enjoy music and dance fun. This summer, the Cambridge City Public Library welcomes guest presenter Keisha Fagan. Keisha has attended with her own children for years and will be brilliant. Thanks for volunteering, Keisha!
