Plans for Summer Reading are underway, and our calendar is filling up quickly! This year’s theme, Unearth a Story, invites readers of all ages to dig into great books and discover something new. In celebration of our nation’s 250th anniversary, several programs will also feature the subtitle Unearth Our History, highlighting stories and events from our past. As always, participants of all ages can join in by reading or listening to books to earn entries for exciting prize drawings. Get ready for a summer full of discovery, learning, and fun at the library!
The Evening Book Club will meet Tuesday, May 19th to discuss These Silent Woods by Kimi Cunningham Grant. This atmospheric and suspenseful novel follows a father and daughter living off the grid in the Appalachian Mountains, where their quiet, secluded life is disrupted by the arrival of a stranger. As secrets begin to surface, the story explores themes of trust, survival, and the lengths we go to protect the ones we love. New members are always welcome—call 765-478-3335 or stop by the library to reserve a copy.
The Senior Center Book Club will meet Wednesday, May 27 at 1:00 pm at the Senior Center at the Golay to discuss Big Lies in a Small Town by Diane Chamberlain. This compelling novel weaves together past and present as a young artist is given the opportunity to restore a historic mural—uncovering long-buried secrets tied to the small town’s history along the way. Blending mystery, history, and emotional depth, it’s a story of resilience, truth, and the power of art. Both book clubs welcome new members—call 765-478-3335 or stop by the library to reserve your copy today.
Mother Goose on the Loose continues to bring families together for stories, songs, and early learning fun. Join us on Wednesdays, May 6, 13, 20, and 27 at 11:00 am for this engaging program for little ones and their caregivers.
Gamers’ Guild has been especially lively lately, with growing participation and lots of enthusiasm for Dungeons and Dragons and Nintendo Switch games. The group will meet on Mondays, May 4, 11, and 18 at 4:00 pm. We are currently seeking a volunteer to help supervise this energetic group—please contact the library if you’re interested!
