| Dear WayneCounty.info,
The JMM Museum community is happy to participate in Earlham Day on April 22, 2026. You can make a donation directly to the Museum by designating your gift to the Joseph Moore Museum on Earlham Day. These gifts help support the training of student docents in the Museum and Planetarium, provide popular outreach to 1,765 school children and nearly 13,000 annual visitors. EC students also learn how to care for and manage the collections, create new exhibits, and care for the museum’s live animals. Last year 36 EC students worked in the Museum, 125 EC students visited with their classes, and several are Museum Studies majors.
This year we, a group of anonymous Museum Alums, are offering a challenge grant of $2,000 to the JMM community. If the JMM receives 50 unique donors who designate their gift to the Joseph Moore Museum, we will donate $2000. But be aware that the number of donors to JMM is more important than the total amount raised, because it demonstrates to the College that the low-key JMM is as popular with alumni as with Richmond residents.
In addition to what you designate for the JMM, each Earlham Day donation, no matter how small, triggers a $200 matching gift from another group of EC Alums to Earlham’s General Fund. Those of us who have worked in the JMM in decades past hope you will join us in giving specifically to the Museum on Earlham Day, Wednesday, April 22, 2026!
If you would like to help spread the word about this challenge, please sign up to be an Adovcate on Earlham Day. Learn more here.
With grateful thanks,
Anonymous (Class of 1975)
