Did you know that Cope recently installed a salamander wall to help our staff better monitor amphibian activity on the property? These walls guide migrating salamanders along a predictable path, making it easier for researchers to count individuals and identify the different species living in our wetlands and forests.
Tracking salamanders helps us better understand the health of our ecosystems, since amphibians are important indicators of environmental quality.
