We are pleased to welcome local historian Carolyn Lafever to the library for a special presentation on her decades of research into our area. Carolyn will also be speaking about her newest book on Tuesday, November 18 at 5:30 pm. If you’re interested in our local history, you may already be familiar with her earlier works, such as Wayne County, Indiana: The Battles for the Courthouse, which delves into the county’s courthouse conflicts, and A Pictorial History of Wayne County, Indiana, a rich visual history showcasing local heritage. Join us for an enlightening evening as Carolyn shares stories and insights that bring Wayne County’s past to life.
The Evening Book Club will meet on Tuesday, December 2 at 6:30 pm at the library to discuss Marley by Jon Clinch. The Senior Center Book Club will meet on Wednesday, November 19 at 1:00 pm at the Senior Center at the Golay to discuss How to Read a Book by Monica Wood. This heartfelt novel follows a recently widowed woman who rediscovers joy, connection, and purpose when she joins a community literacy program. With humor and compassion, Wood explores the power of friendship, the healing nature of stories, and the beauty of starting over at any age. Mother Goose on the Loose continues to be a vibrant and joyful program for little ones and their caregivers! Each week features engaging stories, rhymes, songs, and movement activities that encourage early literacy and social skills. Join us on Wednesdays, November 5, 12, and 19 at 11:00 am for learning and laughter with Mother Goose and friends.
Gamers’ Guild is back for more adventures this November! The group is ready to roll the dice again with Dungeons & Dragons and enjoy some friendly competition on the Nintendo Switch. Meetings will be held on Mondays, November 10, 17, and 24 at 4:00 pm. All players ages 9–17 are welcome to join in the fun!
The Cambridge City Public Library will be closed on Thursday, November 27 and Friday, November 28 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. We wish everyone a warm and joyful Thanksgiving filled with family, friends, and good books! The library will reopen on Saturday with regular hours.
