September was a busy and exciting month at the Chamber! We hosted our Fall Golf Outing at Winding Branch Golf Course, where 20 teams joined us for a fun day on the greens. Congratulations again to our winning teams — and thank you to everyone who came out to support, network, and enjoy a great day together.
Later in the month, we welcomed hundreds of local students and employers to our Career Exploration Fair. It was an incredible opportunity for students to explore career paths and for businesses to connect with the next generation of Wayne County talent.

Chamber in Action: TPM Conference in Washington, D.C.
|
Our Director of Employer Engagement, Shawntel Baker, recently traveled to Washington, D.C. to represent Wayne County at the 2025 Talent Pipeline Management (TPM) National Learning Network Summit.
The Summit brings together business and workforce leaders from across the country to share best practices, strengthen talent pipelines, and collaborate on innovative strategies to better connect students and employers.
The first day was off to a great start, filled with powerful discussions on how to apply the TPM framework to local workforce needs. In addition to the Summit, Shawntel also had the chance to explore Capitol Hill — visiting Cannon Hall to connect with Congressman Jefferson Shreve’s office, and enjoying a personal tour of the Capitol, where she saw the Senate in action.
This experience will bring back fresh insights and strategies to strengthen Wayne County’s workforce pipeline, ensuring that our students and businesses have the tools they need to grow together.
