Step into the magic of autumn at Cope Environmental Center for an evening of Halloween fun in the great outdoors. Nature Nightmares: Forest of Frights offers two unique trail experiences so everyone can celebrate the season their way. Families will love the Twilight Trail, a festive woodland walk with Halloween décor, photo spots, and cozy fire pits for s’mores from 5:00–7:00 PM. For those looking for a thrill, the Trail of Terror runs from 8:00–10:00 PM, with live scare actors and surprises around every corner.

Lace up your shoes and experience autumn in motion with Cope Environmental Center’s Annual Fall Foliage 5K/10K, part of the Wayne County Challenge. This scenic course winds through vibrant fall colors, offering a beautiful outdoor adventure for walkers and runners alike. Pre-register by September 19 for $20, or $25 after. Expect natural terrain and a little mud if it rains, adding some extra excitement to the race.

This fall break, give your child the gift of outdoor adventure at Cope Environmental Center’s first-ever Explore the Outdoors Fall Nature Camp. Designed for students in grades K–5, this camp combines fall hikes, wetland explorations, nature-inspired crafts, live animal encounters, and more. Guided by counselors, campers will make new friends, stay active, and create lasting memories while discovering the wonders of autumn.
