As our 2025 Summer Reading Program wraps up, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated, donated, and volunteered to make this summer such a success. Special thanks go out to DOT Foods, Judy Huddleston, Jill King, Virginia Parsons, Elaine Potter, Allen Renaker, and Betty Ripberger for your generous donations for Summer Reading. We couldn’t have done it without you!
We enjoyed a season filled with creativity, community, and a love for reading. Highlights included a fantastic visit from the Lincoln High School Band, and a sweet treat for all thanks to Marilyn Schunk and Schunk Concessions, who generously provided free snow cones to attendees, band members, and library staff. In partnership with Every Child Can Read of Wayne County, we also presented a special screening of The Wild Robot at the Golay Center, which brought our shared reading experience to life on the big screen. Thank you to the Golay Center for providing space for our event!
It’s been a joy seeing so many families, children, and readers of all ages join in the fun. Prize drawings will take place during the first week of August! Thank you for helping us “Color Our World” this summer!
Join the Evening Book Club on Tuesday, August 12 at 6:30 PM to discuss How Not to Drown in a Glass of Water by Angie Cruz. This witty and deeply human novel follows Cara Romero, a Dominican woman in her 50s who, after losing her factory job, navigates a new chapter of life through a series of job counseling sessions. Told in Cara’s bold, honest voice, this unique story explores themes of resilience, aging, and reinvention with warmth and humor.
