This June, the Cambridge City Public Library’s Summer Reading Program kicks off with exciting events for all ages. Readers of all ages are welcome to compete for drawing prizes, with more books read increasing your chances of winning in your age category.

This summer, we are again partnering with the Golay Center to host larger programs in their meeting room. Kids enrolled in the Super Summer Fun program can attend these events. On June 5th at 2 pm, Kristi Ridgeway from Indiana DNR will present at the Golay on native Indiana animals. On June 12th at 6 pm, enjoy “Wizard of Oz” by Steven Puppets at the library. Additionally, on June 19th at 2 pm, storyteller Celestine Bloomfield will entertain the crowd at the Golay Center!

Join us for the Evening Book Club on Tuesday, June 25th, at 6:30 pm as we dive into the thrilling pages of “Drowning” by T.J. Newman. The Senior Center Book Club will meet on Wednesday, June 26th, at 1:00 pm at the Senior Center at the Golay to discuss “The River We Remember” by William Kent Krueger. This evocative novel takes us to the heart of Minnesota, where retired sheriff Cork O’Connor embarks on a mission to uncover the truth behind a friend’s mysterious disappearance. Join us for the Gamers’ Guild on Mondays, June 3rd and June 17th, at 4:00 pm for exciting sessions of Dungeons and Dragons. Recommended for ages 9-17, these gatherings offer young adventurers the chance to embark on epic quests, develop strategic skills, and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow gamers. Whether you’re a seasoned player or new to the game, come and be part of the adventure!

 

Our beloved Mother Goose on the Loose program continues to enchant little ones through June and July! Join us every Wednesday at 11:00 am for a delightful mix of stories, rhymes, and songs. Perfect for toddlers and preschoolers, this program offers a fun and interactive way for children to develop early literacy skills while enjoying quality time with their caregivers.
