Car Thief Arrested

Patrol Deputy David Winburn recently responded to a disabled vehicle in the 6900 block of South SR 227. When Deputy Winburn arrived, he found the vehicle to be unoccupied and reported to be stolen from Columbus, Ohio. A short time later, a nearby resident reported that an individual had broken into their home, and after the individual was ran off by the homeowner, he was seen hiding in a vehicle in their driveway.

Sergeant BJ Skaggs and Deputy Winburn were able to locate the individual and take him into custody without incident. Alden Baccas, age 35, was lodged in the Wayne County Jail for Burglary and two counts of theft.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the concerned citizens who called to report suspicious behavior. These reports only further aide our efforts in safeguarding life and property around Wayne County!
