December brings colder breezes, warm, family gatherings, and many joys of the season.  December also brings fun events at your local library!  We invite families with children of all ages to the Cambridge City Public Library on Monday, December 19, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. for a Christmas Craft Palooza.  Wear your pajamas, visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, make some cool crafts, and have a holiday snack.



Christmas Concert: Solid Brass

Music lovers of all ages will enjoy the Christmas Concert featuring Solid Brass on Wednesday, December 21 at 6:00 pm for an evening of holiday tunes at the Cambridge City Public Library.  Solid Brass is an ensemble of musicians led by Jim McKinney who leads the Richmond Jazz Orchestra.  Thank you to our Friends of the Library for sponsoring this musical event that promises to be delightful!



December Book Clubs

Our Evening Book Club meets Tuesday, November 22, at 6:30 pm at the library to discuss The Maid by Nita Prose.  The Senior Center Book Club meets Wednesday, November 30 at 1:00 pm at the Golay Center at 1007 E. Main Street in Cambridge City to discuss Sarah’s Key by Tatiana de Rosnay.  You can pick up your copy of this book at the Golay Center for the Senior Center Book Club or call 765-478-3335 to arrange a book for the Evening Book Club.

Toddlers and preschoolers learn through play at Mother Goose on the Loose Story Time, which happens on Wednesdays, December 7, 14, and 21 at 11:00 am at Cambridge City Public Library.  Mother Goose Story Times aid in early literacy development.  Mrs. Kim will share stories, songs, rhymes, music, movement, and fun with your child.  All ages are welcome.  No pre-registration is necessary.

 

Call now to sign up for January appointments for your child to practice reading with Amanda Corman’s trained therapy dogs at PAWS for Reading in January.  The dogs are taking a break in December, but will return to Wednesday afternoons on January 4, 18, and 25.  Call 765-478-3335 reserve your place.
