Steve Cleaver Leads a Poetry Writing Workshop

Do you love writing poetry? Being creative?
Our poetry writing workshop is for you! Join Steve Cleaver, Head of School at Richmond Friends School, as he shares about the craft of writing and leads participants through poetry writing exercises. All levels are welcome!
In addition to his work at RFS, Steve teaches yoga, and hosts Leave It To Cleaver, his WECI radio show. Steve is the author of the award-winning novel, Saving Erasmus (Paraclete Press, 2007) and a founding member of the Richmond Writers Group. Steve loves a good laugh, the outdoors, and finishing a good book (either by reading it or writing it).

Girls Who Code Club is a free program for 6th-12th grade students to join a sisterhood of supportive peers and role models using computer science to change the world. Clubs are free and offer fun activities through a flexible curriculum that adapts to your unique needs. 
digi-lab (for ages 9-12)
Tuesday, October 4, 4 – 5 pm
Location: Bard Room
digi-lab will meet twice a month, alternating STEM projects and challenges. 
Thursday, October 6, 5 – 6:30 pm
Location: Teen Space – ages 12-18
Create your cauldron using a glass yogurt container and learn how to brew up your slime that will be your “potion” in the cauldron.

October 2022 Workshop
Are you ready to spook your friends as you embrace the gory part of the Halloween season? In this guided class, you’ll learn to create and apply your special effect using fake blood, wax, and more. The class is led by FX enthusiast Cori Purvis, who will provide step-by-step instructions on creating a realistic-looking wound.
Please note, that you will be applying a variety of substances to your arm to create this effect.
