Pirates, Healing Waters, Yoga and Ocean Fun at MRL!

Calling all pirate enthusiasts and history buffs! Come hear the history of East Coast pirates and how they helped win the Revolutionary War! 
Notorious pirate Ann Fost leads this program. Ann currently teaches 6th Grade Social Studies for K12, but you may have seen her around town in her Pirate Jeep. She loves all things pirate.

Meditation/Yoga
MRL welcomes Heidi Klemann, a yoga instructor at Goodlife Wellness. 
Heidi will help us learn some basic yoga/meditation methods to help with stress and anxiety. Registration is not required but appreciated due to the limited amount of space.

Want to know how Vikings spent some of their free time? Come make and learn how to play the 1,600-year old Viking board game, Hnefatafl! Participants will receive a pre-printed 11×17″ copy of the board. Participants will be taught the rules of Hnefatafl, and will have a chance to practice basic their strategy.

Indiana played a large role in the water-cure craze of the late 19th & early 20th centuries. Most famous was French Lick and West Baden, but Indiana had other mineral springs which were developed into spas. Learn about sources for further exploration as well as some interesting items held in the State Library’s collection.
